When I posted about having a fear a mice, it reminded me I didn't always have this fear. I was a city girl, thru and thru. When we married, one our of goals was to live in the country and raise barefoot dirty faced smiling country babies.
Our land was raw when we bought it, no services, no anything other than a beautiful piece of property and some dreams. We bought a mobile home. The first step to our dreams.
This dream came crashing around my feet one afternoon when my formerly city cat, brought in a mouse.
I do not recall leaping onto the back of the couch, but that is where my daughter found me, crying and screaming hysterically.
She phoned her dad to try to talk me down.
I need to tell you my husband is an educated man. He is also very logical. But he's learning this is not necessarily the best approach with me.
Cordless in hand, and the mouse out the door with the help of my daughter, my husband soothes my sobs to hiccups. It's ok, nothing to worry about, part of country life.......
Huh.... what do you mean PART OF COUNTRY LIFE??
Hope ,honey, look out that window, see that field over there.... there thousands of mice eating that grain...
And I was up on the back of the couch...... sobbing.....
My daughter back on the phone to her dad...
What in the heck did you say to mom.....

lol, yep I understand that fear of mice...... lol living out in the boon docks , one forgets about mice....
Our cat brought in a mouse and played with it for about a week until it decided enough was enough and "chomp" it was all over. We got so caught up in the adventure that we forgot we didn't really appreciate him bringing his buddies home. Now he is so fat and lazy (like me) that he just waves to them as they go by. Sort of like Garfield.
Our cat caught a mouse in the house this winter. Of course it was during our social time with friends. She (the cat, not my friend's girlfriend) dropped the mouse in the middle of the living room. There was dead silence. The cat was mad when my husband threw her treasure out and I was busy packing my bags.
For some strange reason, our company has not been back since. I can't imagine why. We provided a floor show. What more do they want?
I am so glad to here that others are plagued.
Makes me feel less lonely out here in the boonies, with my cats and their prizes....
Not afraid of MICE no not me not at all. Just don't like them in the freakin' house!
