Hopefully he'll laugh about it someday.......
A quick trip into town this morning, and on my way home I caught a quick glimpse of something happen with two bikes motoring down the sidewalk on a hill. A glance in my rear view mirror confirmed a man down. Or rather an "around 13 year old boy" down. When I ran back to see what was up, there was the boy, laying on the sidewalk, knees drawn up to his belly, both hands cupping his injured groin. His friend knelt over him, I knelt down,
"Anything I can do?"
Terse shake of head.
I've seen these "Male injuries" before, so I know better than to expect a response from the boy. I wait for a few minutes as he deep breathes and his friend tries not to laugh, showing both concern and boyish humor.
Just then a city bus comes to a stop, full of off to work, gas poor people. Standing room only. The female driver opens the bus door and says,"Do you require assistance?"
The boys friend stands and yells to all the passengers
" Anybody got an ice pack for this guys balls?"
After a moment of silence the laughter roars from the open bus windows.
I hear the first words come from the injuried boy.... tiny, high pitched and out of breath....
"I'm gonna kill you asshole"

Medical Update: Though tender, he was up and walking after about ten minutes. He chose to walk his bike down the rest of the hill. Check off my good deed for the day.

My husband says that he can't see such an accident and not cringe. He doesn't think replaying such things over and over on funniest home video shows is funny.

I laugh tho.

I am glad he is okey. It makes the laughing easier.

He will NEVER laugh about it. His buddy will laugh about it. You will laugh about it. The people on the bus will laugh about it. I'm laughing about it, but trust me when I tell you that HE WILL NEVER LAUGH ABOUT IT.

Oops - I mean... poor boy! (My callous sense of humour slipped out.)

I am laughing so hard... Dont get me wrong because the boy I am sure was really really hurting, but what his friend did, was exactly what my brothers would have done if one of them had been hurt there.

Glad the boy was okay.
