So, I was MSNing with my best friend, Saint Kate, and I ask her if she wanted to fly down to LA and do some tree sitting with me.
Doing penance?, she asked
For what?, I reply
I can almost see that eye brow raise........
The parking garage.........
Oh yeah, the parking garage, I almost forgot.
No you didn't she says, you just don't think you did anything wrong.
It was a joke, I say , I sure it's all been forgotten.
When I visited LA about 15 years ago, with her and another friend, I didn't quite leave LA the way I found it.
We had ended our vacation at Universal Studios, and when we entered the parkade, we were directed past floor upon floor of prime parking spaces, and made to walk acres to get into the park. After a wonderful day, we head back on the hike to our car, and notice all of these prime spots are taken by huge limos, parked across 4 or 5 spots, there were pylons all over the place, blocking exits and redirecting traffic.
After completing our hike to the car, complaining about preferential treatment the limos received , I came up with a brilliant retaliation. We drove down the parkade and hopped out(Thelma and I) and left St Kate in the front passenger seat.
We spent the next 10 minutes or so, moving all those pylons, blocking some entrances, opening others. Surrounding some of those limos with the darn things.
The whole time, St Kate is in the car, yelling, "if you two don't get in here I am leaving right now."
We know she won't because she hasn't put her name on the rental car as a driver.
St Kate breaks NO rule.
When we finished our little ruckus, we hopped in our car and peeled off, howling about those limos driving around in circles, trying to get out of the parkade.
We later found out that Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg and a legion of other stars were filming "Comic Relief" there that evening.

Perhaps, in lieu of my confession, they'd like to make a donation to a really good cause.
