In native culture, it was expected that the women would make the warriors new moccasins before they went to war.
If the women did not want the men to go to war ,
they would refuse to make moccasins.

I want to refuse to make moccasins.

There is a heaviness in me these days, a weariness I guess, for the world.
With the increasing violence in the middle east, it seems like forever since there has been any improvement in a quest for peace.

I believe in prayer, I believe that with prayer we can heal the world, for if we ask for it, and open our hearts to it, we can claim it.

Will you join me in praying for peace?

There will be no moccasins coming out of my house either!

I agree, there is a heaviness in all this. When I asked my colleague how her husband was holding up, she said "well, he and his family have lived with war for 20 years now, so this is not new." How sad, to live in the shadow of war for so long.

Yes, I am praying for peace.

That is interesting. Yes, I will join you in praying for peace (and for the safety of our men (many of whom I personally know) fighting for freedom.

Peace seems so far away, doesn't it? Perhaps it is not. I know some will disagree with me, but the Bible has prophecied all that is occuring today. World peace WILL happen, but according to scripture, it will get much worse before it gets better. But your prayer is pure and noble. I shall join you.

No moccasins being made here!

I'm not too optimistic about peace in the world these days, but I'll do my part to help out.

Just a quick note letting you know that I am thinking of you. I hope that the heaviness in your heart has passed some. Are you okay?
