To my daughter:
Before you were born, I lived the life of a gypsy,
carefree, restless, heading in the direction of the day, or often moment.
You gave me, for the first time ever, a purpose on this earth,
an absolute rock solid ,vital role in the universe.
Above all ,I was here to be a mom, your mom.
I knew my whole life would fall in place if I could rise to the challenge.
There has not been a moment since your birth that I have not been cognisant of your existence and our connection.
I love you.
I learned so much about myself, as I raised you.
And even more as we share womanhood together.
With you I learned to trust my instincts and intuition.
I also came to realize and embrace the responsibility and power women are entrusted with.
I believe you helped me want to become , what Maya Angelou describes as ,
a Phenomenal Woman.
You helped me form my identity.
I am proud of the woman you have become,
and I thank you for all the joy and life you continue to give me.
Happy Birthday, happy life.

Thankfully,
your Mom
