So where the heck is La Nina?
Today it is minus 27 C , which converts to -16F.
The windchill takes it down a few more degrees.
School has been cancelled. Too cold for the buses to run.
My "Farmers Almanac" predicted a long , cold winter.
The geese started their migration gathering in mid September
rather than their usual mid October.
But I had hoped, for once, they were wrong.
Reports that La Nina was swirling away somewhere in the ocean
getting ready to battle the mighty Canadian winter had brought hopes
that winter would be short and mild.
But it appears the geese knew what they were doing.
They got the hell out of Dodge.
My only small pleasure is that they are all down south,
crapping all over the lawns of those warm weather folks.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I was outside last night and heard the geese honking away. Rest assured they made their destination!

Wow, that is cold! It's supposed to get up to 70F here today. Sorry!

I thought we were supposed to have a mild El Nino this year? But what do I know?

But no geese down here.

I think MB and AB have switched temperatures for awhile. It's around 0 here today, and last week it was +12. Same thing when I was out your way last month - it was warmer here than there. Rather unusual. But I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

meanwhile we battle bushfires and searing hot tempuratures that are at this point frighteningly out of whack with what we normally have. Also no rain and in a drought its ready to go and go it will and we live in the bush really scary.

It's here in southern Ontario. It will be 12C today but it was even warmer yesterday when I was roaming around outside sans coat. Apparently winter comes tomorrow. It still won't be like winter there though -- barely below 0.

Move out east. It hasn't been that cold yet here. Today it's above 0 and great snow man weather.
