And today I begin year two of blogging.
The peacefulness of this picture has been replaced
by the sounds of hockey fans gathered around the TV,
to cheer on the Flames.
so I have retreated to visit....
Again we are blessed with sunshine,
.....it pours through the windows,
caresses the soul.
This picture allows me to tell you a little more about who I am.
The hundreds of posts I've done may not share as much about me as this photo.
- Have I ever told you that I drum???? Notice my favorite drum beside the TV cabinet. It has a booming deep sound that vibrates through the room. I have also several smaller hand drums, that I use at Native Dance, with the Cree Princess.
- I build willow furniture, because I love creating with natural materials. The chair and stool beside the drum were my first projects. The willow came from our land. The Flames pillow on it is not mine, but awaits being tossed around by the noisy hockey fans upstairs.
- I have not yet decided , after 13 years, how to finish my wood floors. This is actually a good thing because it allows me not to worry about painting princesses, Wiggle cars, and mini sticks. I laid every inch of these floors myself when we built the house. Someday I may get around to finishing them.
- I love plants and gardening and being outside. My living room makes me feel I'm outside even when the weather won't allow it. I refuse to put up curtains.
If you blow up the picture, you may note I hate dusting, and may find a hairball or two in the corners. The dog sleeps on the loveseat and the cats are out roaming.
The Cree Princess has announced she is hungry.......
She has been eyeing the last 2 T bone steaks from the freezer,
which will be on the grill shortly....

Happy Blogiversary. You don't know me at all but I just came over from Oshee's blog.
Welcome to year two!
That's pretty cool that you made your furniture. I wish we had willow trees on our property.
By the way, I abhor dusting. And most other cleaning as well!
I have always wanted to make willow furniture like that! Perhaps I should come spend a week with you some day and you could teach me. What fun we'd have! :-)
Happy two year blogiversary!
In theory, I love drumming, but have never really had the opportunity to do it. It seems like it would be so very soothing, oddly enough. Something about the rhythm, I'm guessing.
Happy Blogiversary. I think it is funny that we started at about the same time. But when I found you a month into it all..you inspired me so much it made blogging seem worth it.
Thank you for being my teacher this past year.
I love knowing you drum. The wicker furniture is truly impressive. But more than all of that? The room looks so comfortable and warm. The kids watching TV and painting. The plants everywhere. Thank you for sharing this small corner of your life.
happy anniversary!!!
your home looks warm, cozy, and inviting.
I had no idea that you drum!!! You should put up a little audio clip for us to listen here........
Happy Blog Anniversary. I have enjoyed reading your blog, and I look forward to the coming blog year! I love your willow furniture.
Happy 2 years and I love that room. It has a comfy feel and an openess about it.
I do not have curtian anywhere in my house. Blocks light and I love letting the light come in.
