Friday's Leftovers....

Today is one of those happy days,
when for no apparent reason I am,
just happy.
The kind of happy that makes people look at you weird,
when you are humming, and light on your feet,
ready to burst into a
singing in the rain type song and dance.
Kind of like you've got your own little happy secret.
My son gets kind of nervous on these days,
because he just knows I'm going to be car dancing
and singing along to the song of the moment,
when I pick him up from school.
I will try to restrain myself until we are on the highway.
So here's a happy slant on the past week:

• I was on overload last night, trying to figure out what time to watch what. Once upon a time, I would have been able to say I don't watch much TV, it isn't true anymore. They have me hooked. Managing Survivor, Deal or No Deal Canada, Ugly Betty, and American Idol's first elimination. Seeing as there was a Flames game on, it wasn't like I was missing family time, so I overdosed on the tube and promised myself once the sun was shining and the snow had melted, the TV would loose it's hold on me.
• Speaking of........Spring......... my "I can't wait til it gets here!" countdown begins with a warning. Sometimes I get a little crazed at this time of year. I'd link you to it, but........
• My computer had updates for me, to Internet Explorer 7, when I upgraded,....... I kid you not, I do not have a highlight button. Now those of you who have attempted to help me through this process are welcome to bale, it won't be the first time someone has declared me hopeless. My best friend, St Kate, sister of my heart, has refused to attempt ever again, to teach me to crochet. This woman who has the patience and goodness of a saint, has flat out refused to give it another try. Sometimes, I am hopeless, willing ........but hopeless. And I'm OK with that. Are you?
• Like liz, I have been pouring over seed catalogues, in great anticipation. I love, love ,love ,love, love, planning and planting and nurturing and watching my garden come to life. The smell of the earth, air, water and nature coming together is where I can live in the moment. Where everything suspends itself, and I am only there, playing in the dirt.
• My lifelong attraction to mud puddles makes me love this time of year. I will admit to being one of those people who, when driving, speed up and splash through the largest puddles (never in the city, though I am sorely tempted). My husband, who keeps his vehicle immaculate, looks pained to have my car sit beside his in the garage.
• This week I heard that US stats say 51% of eligible women are not married. Seeing as I heard it on TV, they didn't give the whole picture, but I making an assumption that at least some of these women are in relationships, but choosing not to marry.This holds true for all of my daughters childhood friends. Some went through young whirlwind marriages, but all remain single. .......
• ......including my daughter, who is steadily moving towards a commitment. They are renovating his house together. From personal experience, this is the ultimate test.

I am back to being hockey mom, which will consume my weekend, y'all have a good one.
