Monday Mutterings..............

  • Holiday Mondays that feel like Sundays are great, until you get to Monday night and realize it's Tuesday tomorrow, so you are a day behind.Today was Family Day in Alberta, and the 5 of us spent the afternoon tobogganing. Wonderful sunny day, promise of Spring in the air. We went out for lunch, and then, at the spur of the moment to Costco, with our wet from sledding butts. It amazes me how I can spent 200.00 so easily there, when I am so thrifty in other ways.
  • Happy Presidents Day , southern neighbours. I've been wondering a lot about the presidency down there these days. Seems like you will be choosing between a white WOMAN and a BLACK man. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Campaigns can get pretty nasty , and this one comes with some extra drama... former First Lady, former Muslim connections.....better than the tabloids in a lot of cases. But, truthfully, what I've been thinking most about is who in their right mind would want to take on that job, and inherit: the never ending war, huge deficits, environmental disaster , corporate and political corruption, etc. I mean, imagine waking up to face those problems every morning. Everyone should be praying for a person of great wisdom and ethics to come forward, and for the wisdom of the American people to chose wisely. Although we have no say about American leadership, Canadians, as well as most other world citizen is impacted by their political climate.
  • My son has been given the OK to re enter sports world. He is happy. I realized I did not miss it a bit, and really don't look forward being sports mom again. I know he realizes that I only come because I have to drive him, and I stay, cause I'd watch anything he did, and that I never will be a fan of the sport. Just a fan of my son.
  • We have a new Family Doc, who we saw on the first time to check his shoulder. Marvelous, warm, friendly. He was great with my son, he drew him out, shared some laughs, advice and education. But I don't think he'll be my doctor. The whole time we were with him I kept thinking, man, he's gorgeous, and I hung on every word of his enchanting South African accent. But half way thru the visit, I came to the sad conclusion that I'll have to find a new doctor. I can handle having a cute mechanic ,he's only working on my car. I will ,however ,enjoy my son's appointments with young DR Cutie.
  • I had to get a new cell phone, my old one died. I am really worried about it's burial. A victim of "planned obsolescence" , it has joined at least 6 other phones that I've had since joining wireless society. Planned obsolescence, is an industry term that means that the item is only built to last for relatively small amount of time, but consumers don't get upset, because the new gadgets are on the market anyway. Just where the heck is the final resting place for this broken, obsolete techno junk? And why do we put up with it?
  • I still hate New Blogger.

We've donated our old cell phones to programs for battered women. The old phones can be set up with a 911 hotline if the need help.

Costco is one of my favorite places. We take bets on the total cost, but we rarely buy frivolously there. Curiously, the cost of our dogs' food has increased alarmingly. I can't figure out why.

As for the presidency, the black man and white woman are on the same side, and one of them will duke it out against some religious right-wing white man most likely. Hopefully, whoever is the Democratic candidate will win and end this nightmare of a war!

it is amazing how easily $200 can be spent in Costco! it is like it eats money.....

Cheers for your son, I am glad hes able to get back into his sports. I now how important it is to boys his age.

As an American, I am worried about the upcoming elections and future of America like never before.

I cannot stand Hillary Clinton and wouldnt vote her into a traffic cop position let alone the job of running our country (which seems of late, being ran into the ditch, forgive my republican friends)

Obama I am leary of BECAUSE of the Muslim factor and his liberal views. NOT because of his skin color, he could be purple for all I care.

As a voting Republican, I am anxious to see who is going to be at the Polls. We do not have much to choose from.

I loathe, loathe the new blogger! I keep having to sign in on everyone's blog, it makes me very annoyed.

And, it is very interesting about Hillary and Barack, although I don't think Hillary is the right person.

Whoever wins the Presidency will inherit the title of the "most hated world leader" thanks to the huge rift that Bush case created with us and most of the rest of the world. Why anyone would want that title is beyond me.

I also hate the new blogger.
