Fridays Leftovers........

This week had the potential of being like last,

full of frustration.

My son reminded me that dropping what you are doing,

and searching for puddles, is good for the soul.

and so is a good mud bath.

  • I realized this morning that I will be a Mother in Law, a title that can send shivers through the strongest among us. And I vowed never to be one of those. So give me a list of shoulds and shouldn'ts folks.... I'm new at this.

  • I also realized I will have to share being a grandma. This I'm having some trouble with. Now I know a child can never have too many people to love them, but do you think it would be a problem if, just to differentiate us, I could ask to be called Grandma # 1???

  • We are going to a hockey tournament in Banff at the end of the month. The beautiful Rockies. Home of my favorite candy store.

  • The picture below is what I do to keep busy while I chauffeur and wait for my son. Spring always makes me want to pull out my old Jimmi Cliff CD's.... nothing like some good Reggae to keep your spirit dancing. Note: EASY crosswords.... My daughter bought me a book of NY Times puzzles 5 years ago. I've done three..... but I NEVER cheat. Just started a new book......great concepts so far... I'll give you a review when I finish. I always have index cards close by... to write down all of the brilliant ideas I have during the day. Some don't seem as brilliant when i re read them, but you never know when a world changing idea might pop into my head....... and it's "Roll up the Rim" time at Tim Horton's an event that destroys my 50.00 manicure every year in my attempts to win a free coffee.

  • I came across this quote when I was cleaning out my purse today, another index`card jotting..........

"We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are."- Anais Nin

I'll leave you to ponder that......
Happy weekend

My in-laws are not in my life anymore and they don't even live near us, thank goodness, but when we lived in their town, I used to hate it when they assumed we'd be at their house every Sunday for dinner.

Oh, and I hated the pop-in visit too!

My mother in law's cooking made me feel sick for 2 days though. I'm sure you are a much better cook!

I would say that the biggest things my MIL does to irritate me are to play the "martyr" and make veiled insults couched as semi-compliments. It's actually hard to do, but she's the master.

I'm pretty much thinking the mother in law thing will be a walk in the park for you and congratulations.

The whole "Cree Princess is staying at the other Grammies house" might be a tad difficult....my advice "grin and think thoughts IN your head, not out your mouth" Cause she will always love you and sharing is a good thing :)

Hi Hope!
