I was going to post a picture tonight,
but my camera batteries were dead.
Tomorrow I'll post a picture of the sky
I have the privilege of sleeping under tonight.
Thursday, we had snow,
today, hot and sunny.
It's no darn wonder we Canadians are so tough.
And tolerant. ;)
We moved the family to the river today,
to a spot where we have a couple of trailers, a tent or two,
and an very tidy outhouse that still causes
the 5 year old girls to hold their noses
and breathe through their mouths,
and squeal when a spiderweb brushes their butt.
My husband, my son, the Cree princess and her 5 year old friend
spent a great day in the sun, together.
Later by the fire, the girls , sticky with
remnants of leftover s'mores,
told silly ghost stories with
risque words like pee, poop and fart.
My 13 year old, husband and I
shivered , and gasped and jumped at all the right moments.
As the geese flew overhead to bed in the river before us,
my soul , recovered.

gina, that is "Bliss"

I've come back to the house for a long bath,
a luxury that I won't do without.
As I had my soak, I reflected that
it is so important to take a step back,
line up my priorities and live my life based on what matters most.

50 years of lessons and these things still don't comes naturally.

But I solider on, and will hop on the quad,
in my polar fleece pajamas,
head down to the river and join my family
who will have hopefully warmed up my bed.

ps,
liz ,a vacation to Maryland is not out of the question ;)
samrina, welcome to my blog
