I haven't even logged in for the last 10 days, haven't even checked past the first three comments of my last post.... but every day I thought, damn, I wrote spade instead of spay, and not one of you said " for Christ Sakes, for the millionth time it's SPAY!!!", which is exactly what my daughter says as she rolls her eyes.

A while ago, Dr Deb wrote a great post on the power of being "miffed"... that basically, a certain degree of " Miff edness", ( my word, not hers) brings out the warrior in a person, and can be a mental energy booster.... (you know ..." miffed "enough to kick proverbial butt) .

That being the case, I will share with you my

Current Top 10 things that " are miffing " me , in no particular order,

• The fact that I have a great computer and lousy dial up. And even though I have a great computer, I have no idea how to use 95% of it. And even though there are great computer courses , computer talk gives me a headache.
• The fact that there are over 300,000 people with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome,in our country ( I think it's much higher)AND it is totally preventable, ........pregnant women can't drink PERIOD AND professionals are forced to sit back and watch women abuse and damage their unborn children , with only the mother having rights.
• When my husband does the laundry, he doesn't sort, he crams the front loader so full I've seen him stuff it with his foot, and then forgets it's there leaving me to pry the compacted wet laundry from the washer, and unwrap bra straps from towels AND when I tell him he can't do it that way he gives me the "now you know why I never do anything around here speech..."
• I am miffed I am paying 1.06 a liter for gas, and I pass a dozen drilling rigs in a week.
• I am miffed at Walmart ( I am always miffed at Walmart). I can't remember why at the moment.
• That as a community we are not taking a more aggressive approach to drugs. I see the decline in our downtown core, and I think our mamby pamby approach is losing ground... fast. THERE ARE MORE GOOD GUYS THAN BAD GUYS!!!! It's time to kick ass. It's killing me that we are losing what will not ever be replaced.
• For months I have waited for summer, yet in this past weeks 30C+ temps, I have done nothing of substance because my brain melts.
• My coffee pot ( a perk rather than a brewer) broke. It's the third one I've had.... I know I should have quit at 2, but it makes or rather made, great coffee. Damn thing is made in China, and the switch goes on it every time. So... I had to return it, and decided to by a brewer.... not as good coffee I'm sorry to say...
• I am miffed that my very best friend, my sister of the heart, is miffed at me. A rare occurrence. But she'll get over her miffedness and remember that I can not be everything to everyone, and yes, sometimes I am an ass.
• I am annoyed with my husband because he thinks just because he has decided to quit carrying my luggage that he thinks it will curb my excessive packing. It won't. He'll just have tip the hotel and airport staff. The lap top is staying home.

Well.... imagine that... my miff list worked I feel energized enough to start doing all the last minute details of going away.... we fly out Wednesday morning. I do hope we are sitting in a Red Sox friendly zone, cause the boy and his dad will be decked out in Red Sox finest... wish me luck.
