"Rainy days and Mondays always get me down"
A rainy Monday gets me down right bitchy.
"Hip" ocrisy
I learned the term Carbon Footstep when I was helping my son study for grade 7 science. His definition was simply "the crap we leave as we walk through our lives."Others, much smarter than me will be analysing the "Carbon Footsteps" left behind this summers "hip and happening" cause, Live Earth.
I bitched last year, when all the celebrities were pleading for ending hunger in Africa, and dining on soup with 24 k gold flakes as garnish at the Oscars.
Celebrities......the poster children of gluttony.......
The causes, wonderful, the messages, stellar. The messengers.... fools.
Let's get real.
We don't want to do what it takes. Plain and simple.
Over Consumption is what is killing us folks.
The fact that we want more and more and more and bigger and better, is what will do us in.
And it's not within our nature to stop.
At least voluntarily.
We'll stop when we have to, of course.
But by then the earth will be terminal.
An ad I saw on TV the other day said it perfectly.
We are not leaving this earth to our children,
we are borrowing it from our grandchildren.
or it our case,
stealing it.

Very well said.
Too true.
Amen, sista!
I couldnt agree more!
those so called do-gooder celebs are the WORST offenders.
Hi Hope,
I agree with you 100%. There is a degree of hipocrisy with those who preach conservation yet gorge on profligate and ostentatious living.
And you hit it on the nail, that we are stealing earth's resources and patrimony from our grandchildren.
Maybe there's still hope for us as your name suggests.
Thank you for the very worthwhile post. God bless you with all the wonderful things in life.
