Where the heck did they come from?

I cannot ignore the defeat Canada suffered yesterday, in Canadian's Men's Hockey.
Switzerland kicked Canada butt.

Now Canadians may not rate high in the world for much ( besides of course,Standard of Living), but we have always had the quiet confidence that we had hockey all sewn up.
I didn't even know the Swiss had enough flat level ground to have an ice rink, much less have a hockey team.I thought people over there were either skiers or bankers.

Now, some of you may think I know alot about the game, but in truth, I'm not much of an expert. So I went to the expert. " What the heck happened?" I asked my 11 year old son. He tell's me that the Swiss have, not one, but two, awesome goalies. Goalies are always special on a team. Although part of the team, they are the stand alone player when push comes to shove. When Canada's Men skated around the Swiss team, it was us against one. The goalie. And those Swiss goalies stood their ground.

My son has played goal. He's very good, but it's not his position of choice. Mine either. There is nothing worse than being the goalies mom. When there's a breakaway, and three gladiator sized skaters are bearing down on your boy, it's tough. But I again I wander.....

Anyway, good on the Swiss.
