I've never been interested in watching the Academy Awards, three hours of
boring acceptance speeches, and a little bit of comedy in between. This year is no exception, won't be watching, don't care who wins. What I do care about however is the huge amount of money that is spent on this ego inflated, self promotion.

Wolgang Puck has designed and prepared an after Oscar meal. The per plate cost is $1,800.00 per person. One of the courses is apple-celeryroot soup, garnished with 24 K gold. Thats right, little gold flakes floating on top of the soup.
At Live 8 many of these same people urged the world to "End Poverty in Africa". If Iwere them I'd be embarrassed sipping and chomping on an 1800.00 meal.
How about a pair of jeans and a burger, just this once.
