I'm blaming it on the coffee buzz that I endured most of yesterday and gave me a hangover sized headache this morning. My wonderful son delivered breakfast in bed, which included the world's strongest coffee.
Note to self: buy pre measured coffee filters for next Mother's Day.
But that not what this post is about, this post is about my husband, who went off to work today with not one person wishing him Happy Birthday.
It was corrected on his cell phone as my son and I watched him drive off in horror as we asked each other:
"Did you wish Happy Birthday to dad?

Happy Birthday, Honey
no card, no present, but all my love. Always. All ways.
My husband will spend his birthday as any typical day. Off to work extra early, to get every thing done so he can leave early to coach our son's ball team. He will do his job well, make his co workers and clients laugh, and rush home to us.
I have celebrated several birthdays with my man, some before he was officially a man. When I look back, they reflect our growth together.
  • Well planned Keggers, the night spent around a fire, a keg and friends.
  • Birthdays that have coincided with Mother's Day, spent in the park at picnics
  • On the golf course, with friends
  • Holding up the fort while I was in Disneyland with my friends
  • Surprise parties, to mark the big ones. You were surprised weren't you?
  • Quiet dinners, me and the kids.
  • Spontanious get togethers, with whoever was around.

Many, many birthdays. Together.

My son's team will work hard to give him a win tonight.

They adore him.

I adore him.

Note to my husband :

I adore you, Happy Birthday, Partner.

Happy birthday to hubby! I am sure he understands, mornings get hectic. Sounds like you all have had many years of wonderful memories where birthdays are concerned. Very neat.

You have written many wonderful posts about your husband. I love the one about the mail not getting picked up while he was out of town. It was a reminder of how we all tend to take our husband's for granted. While this probably wasn't your intent, after mother's day it feels really good to focus back on another person. It is six months to my husband's birthday, but I think I will give him a call and tell him how great he is.

Happy Birthday to Hope's Partner, husband and friend. I hope your family has a wonderful day.
