There is absolutely nothing like walking in the door, on a cold, wet and busy day,
to the smell of homemade soup. and baking herb bread.
As the slow cooker and bread maker do their thing,
I forget for a moment that I did all this preparation before I left for work.
I breathe deeply, the warmth of the scents reaching me immediately,
my mouth waters, and I am home.
This must be what it's like to have a wife.
They are predicting a cold evening.....
hot soup, warm bread, a cozy quilt and the finale of Rock Star Super Nova.
Simple pleasures.

I haven't been able to get into Supernova. But did you hear that they can no longer use that name?

In my household, that's what it's like to have a HUSBAND! :-) I come home to supper cooking nearly every night. Yes, I know I'm spoiled. And lucky. But it all evens out, 'cause I'm putting him through university!

Sounds like a wonderful evening! Good for you! Nothing better then homemade soup and bread on a cold evening while you are snuggled into your home enjoying a show you like!

The essence of fall to me - rich cooking smells in the house, a blankie to wrap up in, and nowhere you have to go. My absolute favorite time of the year.
