My last two posts have reflected the "state of my spirit" this last little while.
I have always believed in the "Power of One",
but I am feeling a little depleted these days.
So I've been sticking close to home.
To get re grounded back to what matters most.
And my family does not fail to regenerate me.
The excitement of hockey tryouts for my son,
and his enthusiastic greeting of
"I've got no homework!" each day after school.
The smile on my husbands face as I listen to an eighteen hole replay
of a golf game on a brilliant October morning,
A phone call from the Cree Princess telling me
"Gamma , gamma I won a tuwkey in my schools Tuwkey twot",
and my daughters excitement at cooking said turkey, her first ever.
A half hour phone call with St Kate, who just turned 49,
(and yes, I'm planning for next year)
I walk our property lines, the river bank, tall grasses,
bright orange, yellows and reds blazing in the trees on the hills that surround me..

"wild geese gathering,
instinctively knowing
winter approaches.

just thought I'd slip in the haiku that i wrote in my head on one of the walks......

And I am thankful, so thankful , for my life.

I've enjoyed reading your site since we "bumped into each other". You have truly become quite the poet. Your words never fail to paint such vivid pictures. We all have so much to be thankful for. 'Tis nice to be reminded.
