The message changes the rest of my afternoon.
Another hockey game.
Another trip to the emergency room.
This time with his sister.
She can handle it she says, after all she was there the last time it happened.
Text messaged pictures of a little boy in a big green hospital gown,
right shoulder slumped.
They don't have to Xray it for me to know.....
Another broken collar bone.
I talk to both my kids,
my daughter has it under control... do not come home.
My son says, it doesn't hurt too bad, and his sis is buying pizza for supper.
And the Cree Princess says he was very, very brave.
Once you are a parent, there is no such thing as a weekend retreat.
But I'm not giving up yet.

Oh Hope! It's a good thing you raised such a level-headed girl. I hope you listen to her and stay on vacation. But I have a feeling you'll be tempted to go back.
Are you still letting your husband decide the fate of the future of hockey for your son?
Ok, that totally sucks...I hope he is OK...and I hope you are finishing your vacation!!!
Man, hockey can be so violent! I hope he heals quickly and feels better soon.
Oh Hugs. And hugs to your boy. I hope he mends quickly and gets back into the swing of things.
And we will worry won't we?
;)
