The US National Anthem is still being sung,
and I rant about the Superbowl,
well not just the Super Bowl,
but about the so called Super Stars.
I had to come down here to rant,
because my boys have put on their
" just nod and she'll go away" face,
and experience tells me, I have become invisible.
As my son and hubby were gathering necessary accoutrements for said Bowl,
my son said to my husband,
"that's the guy with the illegal weapons"
My momma ears perk up.
"Charged with possession of many illegal weapons ,
and he gets to go to the Superbowl....
blah bla blah....
10 Cinniciatti players with criminal charges this year......"
That's digusting I interject......
and then the National Anthemn saves them from
the converstation I want to have.
(and will... tommorow)
As a mom of a sports boy, I would be sadly neglectful,
if I allowed my son to grow up to think that
these pro players are heroes and role models.
They are highly paid athletic entertainers.
As a young boy, at the doorstep of manhood,
I will teach him,
with the help of his perfect role model father,
that heroes have moral fibre.

The same is true of most who gain fame and fortune...not just sports heroes. Sports just doesn't seem to build the "character" that it used to...not when kids have criminals to idolize.
Hello, Hope. Thank you for being there....still.
You cannot believe how much I smiled when I saw the little red guy.
I too had to sit through the super bowl. sighs.. and I think the world is just headed in a very bad direction. I am glad you are feeling better hope.
Good for you Hope. Bad sportsmanship seems to be becoming an epidemic.
RIGHT ON SISTER!!
You Go Girl!
I hear ya LOUD and CLEAR!
my 13 yo football star's only ambition is to play college ball for OU, then off to the NFL.
help me.......
We went out and played miniature golf instead of watching the game. Lots of fun!
But, most of today's atheletes are all a bunch of big babies with morals that in no way match their talent or paychecks. It is sad.
And, I hope you are feeling better, Hope!
