Happy, happy, joy, joy,.......

but I get ahead of myself.

Heather wrote about it in a recent post,

(and if I could do the link thing that allowed me to say (here)
instead of printing the whole ugly address out
and messing up my post, I would.
BTW... could one of you clever people
please tell me how to do that... simply)

Now, where was I , oh yeah... Heathers post.
I catching up with reading the news that had
accumulated when I was sick and I had already read
Heathers post, so the article caught my eye.
The gist of the article was that bloggers
are lonely people who have created
virtual worlds for themselves.
And it got me pondering, once again this blogging thing.
Originally, I was an accidental blogger,
I considered the computer
a glorified typewriter, a tool for my job,
that could print off my photos,
and came with an annoying email feature
which simply meant more work for me.

When I first started blogging I wrote (this post)..
don't click there, it's a fake... it will be my practice one when I get
your step by step instructions.

For those of you that can't wait
it's Feb/06 archives and it dealt with my frustration
at clicking the next button..... my question was....
how do you find normal people when blogging???

But eventually, I connected with a variety of people
that for me, somehow, fit.

Fast forward to here.
And my links list.
Back to normal.
The way I like it.

So thank you all, for being part of my not so virtual world,
I do hope you realize that you are a part of my real day,
my real thoughts and my real emotions.
Really.

I agree with you 100%. When you didn't post after you said your boys were sick, I was genuinely worried about you...and I've never even met you!

We have a pretty short list of links on our blog, mostly because when I see blogs with really long lists it overwhelms me and I never click on any of them. I'm proud to have your blog on our list.

Sometimes it feels a little funny keeping "real" friends and "blog" friends separate. I often find myself referring to "what a friend said" and then I realize it's a blog friend, and the person I'm talking to probably doesn't have a clue what blogging is and will probably look at me strange if I try to explain, so I try to cover it up by not mentioning how I'm connected to this friend. Weird.

Here's your handy-dandy step-by-step instructions:
1. Highlight the word you want to link
2. Hit "control-shift-a" (yes, that's the letter "a")
3. A box will open up. Under "URL", type in the address you want the word to link to. (Or cut and paste - it's quicker)
4. Hit "OK".
5. Voila! You're done!
6. Send good vibes Heather's way because now you're an unstoppable blog linker!

I'm sure you'll do fine! And I definitely am emotionally invested in people whose blogs I read!

Friends are friends irregardless if they are friends at work, school, pen pals, blog friends, cellmates, etc. etc.

As for the Sports stars being role models......don't even get me started! It is so hard today to shield my son from half of these idiot atheletes that he thinks are Gods. How do you explain to a then 8 yr old what Kobe Bryant was accused of doing? I can't go through his room without seeing a poster or sports card of someone that has been in trouble with the law. Ya just never know.
When I was a kid, I grew up worshipping OJ Simpson and actually got his autograph on a card.
We all know how well that turned out.
