First things First.
I am going to direct you to barngodess' latest post, Two Wolves
Go there now, then come back. ( please ; ) )
That, my friends, is wisdom.
I had to remind myself time and time again
this month as we dealt with the now gone, "renter",
as I seethed with rage, that I had choices about how this impacted me.
Sometimes I fed the wrong wolf.
Now I can serve up, Fridays leftovers..........
- We have been blessed with beautiful weather, the garden is planted. This is my favorite time of year. Snow and winter behind us, and lazy months of summer ahead, life is truly, good.
- I handed over 1200.00 to my husband to buy new golf clubs, because of a bet I made him. That hurt. Taken from my savings account, twelve crisp 100 bills now sit on his night stand waiting for his custom golf clubs to be ready. He's leaving them there I am sure to taunt me, and rub it in. I will not be driving a convertible this summer.
- gina asked a lot of questions in her "why?" post, this one caught my eye: Why does anyone like camping? Well gina, I'm turning that into an interview question, or even a whole post in the very near future. Camping and I have a love / hate relationship. We are heading back down to the river tonight. To camp.
- ATTENTION oshee and misty....... I have your interview questions ready... how do I get them to you??????? I was hoping a few more of you would say, "interview me", cause there's stuff I just gotta know...... so it's not to late, anybody else want an interview????
- your comments on the place where we live confirmed what I realize every day. I am a lucky woman. One of the things I work on in my life is the guilt that comes along with that. Do any of you struggle with the pangs of guilt you get when you realize how truly blessed you are, when many of the citizens of this planet are not?Sometimes I let this guilt, rob me of my joy. A work in progress.......... Baby, that's me.
- I challenged my son's teacher this week on the relevancy of the homework he has been assigned. For the last two months, twice a week he has been bringing home a list of 10 words, and the page number from "The Diary of Anne Frank". The assignment... look up the definition, AND write the sentence. Now, Miss Frank did not often use periods. Many of her sentences are 30, 40 words. So, twice a week, he sits down for an hour, looks up the definition, and copies sentences. Surely a woman with 4 years education, twenty years of experience and half a friggin brain, could come up with a more creative way to explore this wondrous literary treasure. Although she attempted to dig herself out of her apparent teaching rut by offering the most ridiculous reasons for this assignment, I'm not buying it. I am not done with her yet.
- liz, suggested that I post an "out my front door" picture . My husband and I have never been able to agree on which is the back yard and which is the front yard. Last year we finally agreed that we would let a coin toss decide. The children intervened and said that they would never know what we were talking about, if I chose to call the front the back, or my husband chose to call the back the front. In other words, they know they have weird parents, but they are used to us. Here's a picture of what I call the back porch and my husband calls the front door. Seriously folks.... does this look like a front entrance to you?? I mean, what self respecting person would have a front entrance that looks like this:

I did leave it on the previous interview me post. Altho, I admit it was some time after the post was written. I was hoping you had email delivery of posted comments.
I look forward to the questions.
Hope did you ever get the questions that I sent you for my interview of you? I thought of one after I emailed them...How is that sunroom coming along??
I would say that I agree with you. That does not look like a front entrance, but I think it's the narrow bridge sign that's throwing me off ;-)
I felt some of that guilt just this week when I asked a young woman from Uganda about some of her impressions of Canada. She has been astounded at how much waste there is in our society. Now every time I throw something away, I wonder "could there be another use for this?"
liz, whoops, I need to check my email.....
that sign, ahhh yes. We found it on our property when we bought it, a remnant of an old narrow bridge that used to cross the river. My husband loves it, considers it a piece of history, finds the darn thing every time I move it.
oshee ,questions are coming.....
heather, I have a sister in law that lived in Cuba until 3 years ago. She was there when my husband was making a trip to the "dump".
It sparked an interesting conversation. She was asounded that people would "dump" things that others may have use for.
I have changed my approach with my over abundance as wel.
Great Post...thank you for referring us to the Two Wolves Post, a must read.
My email is: musicalmisty at hotmail dot com for those questions.
Waste is something that my youngest daughter is most conscious about. She indicates that every time we throw out our garbage, we are polluting and littering the Earth - which is accurate, but at the same time she uses this logic occasionally to try to get away with littering on the path we walk - never flies because we don't want to live with garbage all around us.
Glad to hear your renter issue has subsided. It truly is those times when we are not at our best that we realize how sucked in we can get and only after we have escaped such fate that we usually realize that we had the power of choice all along. I have a few hot spots in my life that cause me to be more negative and though I know that the power of attitude can impact us greatly, I still don't avoid the negativity, albeit I do breathe deeply a lot more often and try to balance my conversations with the good and bad things in my life.
I've recently watched Freedom Writers, which also references the Diary of Anne Frank in it. This movie has impacted me to start an electronic journal each day so that I can write without reservations and get out all of my thoughts out - stuff the blogsite necessarily wouldn't be appropriate for.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your camping. I got to spend some much needed time with friends last night, I'm have to do my yard work today but I'm treating myself to dancing tonight and tomorrow the girls and I are taking in the last day of the Glenbow Museum exhibit on Greece, Rome and Egypt. It will be a great weekend.
Building vocabulary is a good idea. Suggest a better idea to her -- like use the word in a sentence that you create.
I have to say, that looks like a back door to me, for sure!
thnx for the link!
I love the 2 wolves tale, very simple and very true.
omg, $1200, Hope you are a GOOD woman.
I hope your husband knows this!
