so sorry for the delay..........
1) I love this time of year when the produce section at the store is more diverse after a long winter. What is your favorite fruit?
Me too, in Canada, our winter fruit produce is apples, bananas and oranges. I always look forward to strawberries, huge flats that sit on my counter and make the whole kitchen smell like spring. This year, the California crops took a huge hit, and I've been really disappointed with the quality of produce offered this season. (I had this as a draft, and I just visited your blog , and yum, there you have your own "homegrown" berries.)
2) What, if anything, have you done to make your home environment more “green”?
We compost, faithfully. I have been known to gasp when I see someone throw a banana peel in the garbage. The yellow 5 gallon pails on my back porch wait to be taken to the compost heap in the garden. Lots of what goes in landfills can be recycled by composting.
3) I know you are not a morning person, but, after you reluctantly open your eyes, what is the first thing you see when you wake up?
My husband new LCD TV, always turned on to CNN as soon as he wakes up. But he makes me coffee, so it's an ok compromise.
4) What would your last meal be?
It would, of neccesity, be a multi course ,drawn out affair, savored slowly, with family and good friends.
- A salad, of spring greens, cucumbers and red onions and a dill dressing
- My grandma's borscht, with a huge dollop of sour cream and homemade herbed whole wheat buns, fresh from the oven, with butter...
- Creamy Scalloped Potatoes with lots and lots of onions and cheese
- Again, my grannie's Cabbage rolls, full of beef , rice and dill, baked in tomatoe sauce and served with sour cream.
- Roasted Veggies, on the grill, basted with olive oil and garlic
- My mom's apple pie, heavy with cinnamon, topped with Beyers Vanillia Ice Cream
- And although I don't usually drink, seeing as I would not have to suffer the consequences the next day, a few ounces of chilled Southern Comfort on ice, for the road, so to speak.
5) If you could pick one year of your life to re-live, exactly as it happened the first time (it was just that good), which year would it be? Truthfully, I don't think I've lived it yet..... I don't think that's that's a cop out, but just in case you think it is, I'll answer your 6th question......- 6) How's my sunroom coming? Sigh, I am no decorating diva. The best I've done is hauled out all the junk, and tidied it up. And added a ton more plants. But you've given me a nudge.

Thanks for doing this.
I love strawberries too. This is the first year we've had a pretty good yield. I think my favorites are cherries, because the season is so short I load up when I see good ones.
It's funny we both mentioned our grandmothers. I have a peanut cookie recipe of hers that I never tried to make but a graduation party on Friday motivates me to make a batch. If they turn out tasting like how they did when she made them, I may post the recipe.
wow we learnt heaps about you and we also love apple pies :D
I live very near two strawberry farms, and Mr. P loves going with me to pick some out.
Great answers!
LOve your answers.

Nice answers...
I love, love your answer to number 5...not at all a cop-out, beautiful answer, actually!
And, tag! You're it! (See my blog for explanation...)
More answers...great way to know our favourite bloggers! I did get your questions and I'll answer them shortly (which means likely in the next couple weeks - lots going on in Spring time).
My favourite fruit is cherries, I eat Cherry Pie in the winters and tons of Cherries in the Summer. Not sure why I love them, I just do - but they are a deep red so they're good for me too. Safeway has them on still for $2.99 / lb. Yeah! I probably spend about $50 to $100 on Cherries in the Summer. Can't get enough of them.
Great Answers. Love your last meal one.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
