Alberta has a civic holiday called "Family Day", the third Monday of February, making this , the beginning of our Family Day Weekend.
Our family consisting of me, hubby and son out in the country, and our daughter and her daughter in the city. Family Day weekend is nice for us, because we have that extra day attached to the weekend, but for us it's no different than most.
We make a point of Sunday night supper, together, their place or ours, each and every Sunday. Plans are usually last minute as to place or menu, but we never have to remind each other that Sunday is our kick back and catch up, together time.We go for walks with the dogs, or play a board game, or even sometimes can convince the boys to watch a Disney movie.It doesn't matter.
There's alot of hokey holidays out there,and I'm as bad as the rest for buying into them. But you don't have to sell me on Family Day.
