Je n'appelle francias, and other misconceptions.

I have a confession to make. I embellish a little. Sometimes. Not as much as James Frey, mind you, but enough to cause concern if Oprah called.
I want to clarify some misconceptions that may have caused some people to believe some things about me that are not true.

1) I do not speak French. I took French in school, got a good enough mark to enter college, then put the damn conjugated verbs in the recycle bin of my mind. Now, here in Canada, we have what is called "cereal box french. Because of our language laws, everything has to have both French and English on it. If I want to know how to say "Cream of Tomato Soup" en Francias, all I have to do is turn the can of soup around! It's like having a cheat sheet on every product sold in Canada. So, to clear things up, I am not billingual. I know just enough french to piss franophones off.

2)I am not computer savey. Some people think that my blog is plain and simple because I like it that way, but the truth is that if I could, I'd post a picture or two, and have Janis Joplin belting out " Oh Lord won't you buy me a Merecedes Benz" when you hit my profile button. I'd buy "Blogging for Dummies" but can't buy anything with a title that erodes my self esteem.

3) I have never actually, built an igloo. I have puchased plans, and it's on my things to do before I die list but, up to this point, I have only seen them being built.

There. Now I feel better. Confession is good for the soul.

Holy crap! You'd have never guessed at our first "blog meeting" that you and I would have so much in common. I too do not speak one syllable of French. I'm a computer retard and I've NEVER BUILT AN IGLOO. We're like totally the same!...Getcha some guns and will be like brother/sister, man.

I have a gun. It's not registered. Don't tell anybody.

And the similarites don't stop there! Although we've never met,and only just cyber connected........ I HAVE KNOWN YOUR WORK NUMBER FOR YEARS!
Coincidence? I think not.

My gun is not registered either. 'Course Florida doesn't require registration. If for some reason being Canadian doesn't "work out" ...you'd make a fine American.

I'll pass, but maybe you could help me out with something else. My Cuban born sister in law is trying to visit her very sick aunt in Florida. The US doesn't want do let her in because they're afraid she won't leave. Do you have any pull down there? We've told her all abount hurricanes and crocodiles,so she's scared shitless. She'll be in and out quickly.

Hope, I wish I had some advise for you. Border issues are a hot topic here in the states now. I know little about visas or how to obtain one. Leonidas has spent some time in Cuba and may be more familiar with how to travel back and forth between the two countries. Why not give him a shout? Maybe he has some advice. Good luck.

I found out yesterday that her visa has been approved except to be stamped in Washinton. Do you think you could call George?

Yeah, I'm playin' golf with him tomorrow. I'll mention it to him over lunch.
